Perspective Adventures!!

Above you can see what I am working on in my Illustration techniques class, at the moment I am doing an entertainment piece based on different camera angles of a single scene. I am doing three views of this samurai face off scene. One is in one point, the second is in two point and the third is in three point perspective. As you can see the first two images are just my thumbnails for the two point and three point views and the last image is my first overlay for the one point view. I am really excited about this piece and am happy to be able to escape painting for a bit to focus one perspective and some nice line art. In this class I am also working on a roaming editorial that has to do with the relationship between life and death that I am doing in pencil on toned paper, which I will be posting when I am done.

Anatomy Check up

Here are just a couple of the quick anatomy studies that I have been doing in my Anatomical Figure Illustration class over at CCS. This is my favorite class semester and I have really been focusing a lot on my sketchbook for this class which I will be posting in another section once I am done with it.

In class Painting

This is a painting in acrylic that I did in my Figure Illustration II class. These in class paintings were done in a little under 6 hours so they were very difficult for me to finish since I am relatively new to painting. This is my favorite model, Richard, though so it was a lot of fun especially with his great costume which was a nice treat for the last day of class. This is the best in class painting I did in the class so I thought I would present it on my blog.

Self Portrait in Acrylic

This is one of my self portraits that I did in my figure illustration II class. I did it in Acrylic on standard Illustration board. I am really happy with it and I really learned a lot from this painting.

San francisco Sea Monster

Here is my third ever digital painting! I have been doing stuff like this in my Image Making class at school. There are some small things that I need to change up a little bit but all in all I am happy with it. I am very new to painting, especially digitally but so far I am liking it and getting a lot better at it.

Little Monster

Here is a Dragon that I did for a friend of mine who happens to love her dragons! I had a lot of fun drawing it because I have so much down time right now since I am in Arizona visiting my mom in Scottsdale. It is done on oatmeal colored paper with regular graphite pencils and all the highlights were done with a white charcoal pencil. I really like drawing on a darker paper because I feel as though it gives me more control over the highlights and shadows and I love to be able to play around with all of the variations in shades. I hope you all like and feel free to give me your opinion on this piece.

The four faces of Edsel

This is another piece from my Figure Illustration I class. For this assignment I had to do four faces in a sequence. I chose to do four four heads that were of my friend Edsel. This piece took an incredible amount of time but in the end I think that this is the best piece I have done and is a great addition to my portfolio. The hardest part was separating the heads from each other in the hair area but just leaving an area of medium grey around the outline made them pop out from each other. Another problem was making them sit down and to do that I simply weighted down the line in the collar of the shirt.
I am very happy with this piece as you can tell and I hope you enjoy it as well. This piece was also chosen to be submitted for the CCS student show.
