The four faces of Edsel

This is another piece from my Figure Illustration I class. For this assignment I had to do four faces in a sequence. I chose to do four four heads that were of my friend Edsel. This piece took an incredible amount of time but in the end I think that this is the best piece I have done and is a great addition to my portfolio. The hardest part was separating the heads from each other in the hair area but just leaving an area of medium grey around the outline made them pop out from each other. Another problem was making them sit down and to do that I simply weighted down the line in the collar of the shirt.

I am very happy with this piece as you can tell and I hope you enjoy it as well. This piece was also chosen to be submitted for the CCS student show.

The cop and the golfer

This was my final homework project in my Figure Illustration I class. I am pleased at how it came out but it was very hard to make things really pop because of all of the really dark areas and the large white body of the golf cart. Over all I am satisfied and I am really glad that through out this class I have really improved a lot.

Ye Olde Goblet of Wood

This is the goblet I made in my wood shop class at CCS. I made it on the Lathe. It was my first time using a lathe but I quite enjoyed it! I first had to cut the wood and then glue it together. After that I had to draw out the circle for it to be a cylinder. Then I cut it out on a band saw after that it was right to the lathe where I carved it out, sanded it and then polished it with some linn seed oil. I am very happy about how it came out and I love it! I am planning on making a set so I can use them in the future. It was also chosen to be submitted for the CCS student show.

Figure Drawing!!!

Here are my best and most recent figure Drawings. I did these while in my Figure Illustration I class. The two top ones were done in about 20 minutes and and the bottom one as done in about 15. I am very happy with them because for the most part I struggle with drawing models but these ones have made me smile.

Squidly Times

This is the Copic piece I did for my portfolio. It is pretty much the only marker piece I have ever done and I think it turned out pretty well! Atleast I am happy with it! I hope you will let me know what you think about it as I wish to continue using copic markers in the future and to let everyone know that I was admitted into The College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan and I am very excited to start so wish me luck!

Anatomy Study of the Lion

Here is an anatomy study I recently did of a Lion. I was bored and I have not been to the Zoo recently because of the heat. So I wanted to try and keep my drawing as much as I could. SO here it is! This was done in pencil on regular white recycled paper.

Here is the Portfolio that I sent into CCS not too long ago. I am waiting to hear back from them about a scholarship. I hope for the best and that you will enjoy!

Below is a still life that I did in my advance drawing class. It is on grey charcoal paper and done in Rembrandt pastel. It was very fun to do but very challenging because I have only used pastels once before.

This is my self portrait that I did a little while back. It is on regular white charcoal paper. First a laid down a layer of very heavy charcoal and then slowly erased out the image of my face with a kneaded eraser.

Here is my still life that I did in basic drawing class. It, yet again, is done in regular white charcoal paper and with as you could guess charcoal! I did it a while ago I really like how dark I was able to get a lot it.

Heres a portrait that i did in figure drawing last semester. I usually have a hard time with figure drawing so I was really pretty happy with this one.

Here is another piece that I did in figure drawing of my favorite model steve! This is one of the harder pieces I did in this class because I was so not used to the pastels but I am happy about the way it turned out.

I know this is already up here on my blog but it is also in my portfolio so i thought I would re-list it because I am so in love with this piece. It is an ink wash done on illustration board I cant really say anything more than that beside I LOVE IT

This is my favorite hand that I have ever done. Its done on some oatmeal colored recycled paper that I got from the CCS bookstore. I love the paper and I love this piece. I used black and white prismacolor pencils.

I think this is kinda a goofy hand but when I went for my portfolio review the lady really seemed to like it so I just threw it in there. It is on 8.5x11 ink jet paper and done with a purple prismacolor pencil and a regular mechanical pencil.

This is one of my character concept designs. He is a salt shaker ninja and the enemy of Samurai slug (whom you will find right below). I did the sketch on inkjet paper with pencil scanned it in and colored it with photoshop CS2. I have not really had the time to make up the back story for them but I am sure you will see them again in the future.

And like I mentioned before this is samurai slug! these sketches are done on inkjet paper with prismacolor pencils nothing more nothing less! I really like this idea because it all seemed to mesh in together really well and I am very happy with how it turned out! let me know what you think about it.

This is another piece I did in my basic drawing class during the fall of 2009. It is done on american drawing paper and done with regular pencil. We were supposed to design and render a marvelous machine with a power source mine just have solar panels and a robot, snake and coin pouch. It does not make much sense but my teacher and a lot of other people liked it and I was happy how it turned out.
This is a sculpture from my advanced design class. We took 100 pound paper and had to make a sculpture where all planes were curved. I really liked how this turned out. I don't really understand sculpture that much but this one really makes me happy. I wanted to try and make it look like a pauldron from a suit of armor.
I did this anatomy study in my figure drawing class. I love how the muscles came out I am extremely happy with them because of how much detail I got in. Hope you like it.
I also had another piece done in copic but I cant seem to find a copy of it anywhere on my laptop. I will have to post it at another time.
